The Beings of Xiclotl look like 16-foot high metallic trees, and are enslaved by the Shan as brute labourers.
In the RPG...
Despite their cumbersome appearance, the Beings of Xiclotl are actually quite fearsome. Not only does each tentacle do an average of 14 damage, but if seized, the victim can be swallowed whole, whereby digestion does that same damage per round. Opposed DEX or STR can be used to break free of the Xiclotlian, but considering their STR is 100 higher than their DEX, it's not much of a choice which to choose.
The 7e Malleus Monstrorum has changed the Xiclotlians' STR, CON, and POW. STR has been decreased considerably, from 255 to 170, whereas CON has kept its average, but had its range widened. POW has been increased. Armor has also been decreased from 8 to 6.
In a video game...
The Beings of Xiclotl are pretty tough, but could also provide a decent scare if encountered in the dark woods. It's the 84% chance of killing an average Investigator in one hit that would be the issue.
In a film...
On their own, I don't feel the Beings of Xiclotl wouldn't be that great as a movie monster, but if used as the labourers of the Shan, I could definitely see them working.
